Hinged lid opens to reveal a divided insert with larger rectangular compartment below; both lined with period wallpaper. Decorated with multilayer Geometrics on the body framing maroon velvet panel inserts.
Exterior is stained in a dark wood tone. Very fine attention to detail throughout; a wonderful, well-preserved example of early Folk Art. All of the sewing notions, gauges, pin book, cushion, etc. The photos are probably the best description for this Keeper.
Velvet panels have expected fading; interior paper lining with moderate staining. Some dust/soiling noted throughout; it has not been cleaned. The inner lid likely had a inset rectangular mirror, which could be easily replaced if desired. Displays brilliantly; perfectly practical for sewing, jewelry or holding a wide variety of your small treasures and keepsakes.
See photos for complete details and close-ups. Please consider them as part of the description. A relatively large Tramp Box, measuring approximately 13-3/4W x 7-7/8"H x 8-1/4"D overall. Dimensions of inner compartment: 11-3/8W x 6D x 5H.Good Luck, thanks for looking, and be sure to bookmark my Auctions, listed and ending daily.
